Mr. Obilor, Okechukwu Macdonald, OOM is the Founder and Executive Director of Obi Heart Foundation, a community driven, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the underserved through the provision of medications, medical equipment, youths and women empowerment, scholarships, loans, grants, legal aids etc. Born and raised in Ogbe Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria.
Okey Obilor was brought up in a catholic household where education is very important and taught to be powerful; after graduating from secondary school, he obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Imo State University, Owerri in 2001. In addition to serving as the Executive Director of the foundation, he is an active participant in multiple community service projects, a member of professional and cultural organizations in Nigeria and also throughout the US where he resides and a strong supporter of Chelsea Football club and the Golden State Warriors basketball team.
Growing up in a small rural community in Nigeria provided OOM with invaluable experiences and knowledge. With his own personal encounter with the inadequate basic healthcare system, life’s unfortunate circumstances and his desire to take part and strive for a change, Obi Heart Foundation was born with great support from his community, family, and friends.
