The absence of emergency health care opportunities in our inner communities causes preventable deaths in these communities. The Obi Heart Foundation plans to establish a health clinic that will provide first aid in medical emergency situations. The majority of the people in rural communities have pre-existing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, benign prostatic disease, arthritis, and high cholesterol without knowing it.
Some complained mostly of malaria and typhoid, ulcers, heartburn, pain, migraines, etc., which are prevalent there, not knowing that they are carriers of this other illness. This will serve as a community center where patients will be seen and given some medications from the pharmacists after getting prescriptions for their illnesses from the physicians. The establishment of this center will aid in bridging the gap in the inadequate and costly healthcare system.
